Hi
ReplyDeleteYou've missed out Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park.
Yeah, I'm afraid the polls and mentions were pretty Anglocentric, although there was a good, patriotic Welsh vote. We only listed the Parks who got voted for or mentioned by the page members which is why they didn't make the cut. I am sure it's more to do with where people have been rather than any anti_loch Lomond bias :-)
ReplyDeleteI don't think you can compare the Cairngorms NP with, say, the Lake District and I don't say that as a prejudiced Scot (!) because I've climbed and walked in the Lakes since my early teens and love it. Neither area can offer what the other can, and I'm sure their respective devotees wouldn't swop!
ReplyDeleteI tend not to think of areas as NPs anyway, rather just stunning mountain landscapes (for the moment anyway).
Anyway, keep up the good work!
I really don't know The Cairngorms, but it's definitely on my list of places to explore, maybe this Summer?
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you'll enjoy them. If you haven't seen it already, have a look at Chris Townsend's book 'A year in the life of the Cairngorms' published last year.
